This year, the LIBER 2021 Conference is a special one indeed. That’s because our organisation is celebrating our 50th anniversary and this year also marks the 50th conference that we’ve run. Over the years our conference has served as a vibrant hub for research libraries from all over Europe. Hence, this is a milestone to be celebrated and we are very excited to welcome you at our upcoming (virtual) conference!
The conference will be digitally co-hosted by our colleagues at the University of Belgrade Library in Serbia. As such, we aim to recreate and showcase our vibrant community that is the LIBER Network, while at the same time hosting our conference online and ensuring the safety of all conference participants.

Professor
Gema Santos-Hermosa hold a Ph.D in Information Science and Communication. Her doctoral thesis discusses the development and reuse of open educational resources (OER) in higher education. She is a professor at University of Barcelona (UB), in the Information and Audiovisual Media faculty. Previously she was working as an associated lecturer at Universitat Pompeu Fabra and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and as a research librarian at Universitat Oberta de Cataluña (UOC). She chairs the EMPOWER Knowledge Resources expert group within the EADTU university network and coordinates the OER working group within the REBIUN (Spanish Network of Spanish Universities Libraries). She is also an active member of the European Network of Open Education Librarians (SPARC-Europe). She has several scientific publications and congresses contributions in Librarianship and Open Education. She has participated in several research projects of the State Plan for Research & Innovation on Open Access to Science in Spain (CSO2014-52830P and CSO2011-29503-C02-01).
